# Bean and Friends Animal Sanctuary

> A volunteer-run, 100% kill-free animal sanctuary in Covina, California — and the first full animal sanctuary in the San Gabriel Valley. Founded by a young woman who grew up heartbroken over animal suffering and decided to do something about it.

Bean and Friends is not a traditional rescue. It is a permanent sanctuary where animals who have nowhere else to go — feral cats, injured birds, deformed butterflies who cannot fly, and more — live out their lives in safety and with care. Every animal here has a name. Every animal here matters.

## The most urgent need right now

Monthly rent of **$3,000** keeps the entire sanctuary alive. The home *is* the sanctuary — if rent isn't paid, every animal loses their safe place. This is the single most urgent ask.

## Who lives here

- **Bean** — Tuxedo cat, the namesake and founder. Has a rare allergy to his own teeth and needs a full dental extraction ($3,000) to live pain-free. The reason all of this exists.
- **Cheeto** — Bean's sister. Has been here since day one.
- **Night** — Arrived feral and terrified. Now the biggest teddy bear in the house. Proof that patience works.
- **Spicy** — Mean to everyone for no reason. Loved unconditionally anyway.
- **The Ferals** — Two unnamed cats being socialized slowly. Names come when they're ready to trust.
- **Spooky** — A jumping spider who is scared of everything. Tiny, curious, completely beloved.
- **The Monarchs** — Deformed monarch butterflies who cannot fly. Taken in every summer. The outdoors is a death sentence for them — here, they are safe.
- **The Birds** — When cats in our care injure birds, we take responsibility and nurse them back to health.
